How the daily music connections puzzle works

Every day at midnight UTC a new chain of four songs goes live. You always hear the first one. From there you choose which track continues the chain, and each correct pick reveals the actual relationship between the two songs.

Connections are real music facts, not trivia guesses: a drum break sampled decades later, a cover that outsold the original, two hits written by the same songwriter, or an album produced by the same person. You get three lives, so one wrong turn is not the end.

Finish the chain and you get a shareable result grid, your solve time and a streak that grows for every day you come back. Miss a day and the streak resets — the chain does not wait.

    Connections, but for music

Word-grouping puzzles ask you to spot what four items have in common. A music connections game does the same thing with your ears instead of your vocabulary: the grouping logic lives in credits, samples and cover versions rather than in language.

That makes it a different kind of difficulty. You are not recalling a definition, you are recognising a producer's fingerprint, a bassline that got reused, or a songwriter who quietly wrote half a decade of hits.
